A Month of Company Firsts for Nissan

The numbers show us that most all automakers achieved growth in March. But it was a particularly good month for Nissan, marked by a number of company firsts.

The first notable March milestone: Nissan achieved a robust 9.7-percent increase in U.S. market share - the highest single-month growth in the company's history. The second monthly milestone: Nissan vehicle sales jumped. . .

Understandably, fear over possible radioactive contamination from Japan's severely compromised Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant continues to grow across industries. Within the automotive industry, car makers have been trying to reassure buyers that their vehicles will remain unaffected. The most common assurance offered is that autos are manufactured far enough away from the plant that they'll not be affected by potential fallout.

Nissan, however, is one automaker offering consumers more peace of mind than words alone. . .
