Nissan Scratch Shield Technology Coming to the iPhone?
Published Thursday, 16 February, 2012 by Blog Admin. Categories: Nissan, Technology.
One of our favorite Nissan innovations has to be Nissan Scratch Shield technology. If you drive a new Nissan Murano around Burlington or speed up to Montreal on the weekends in the new Nissan 370Z Roadster, you know exactly what we're talking about. Both of these new Nissan cars sport the futuristic finish.
For those of you who don't currently own a Murano SUV or sporty 370Z Roadster, allow Freedom Nissan to explain. And, please bear with us... What we're about to tell you errs on being unbelievably sci-fi; but, we assure you that Nissan Scratch Shield technology's ability to self-repair nicks and scratches is quite real.
That's right; Nissan Scratch Shield Technology currently used on the 2012 Nissan Murano and 2012 Nissan 370Z Roadster (now available to drivers from Burlington, South Burlington, Essex, Plattsburg, NY and beyond) regenerates exterior paint, keeping vehicles in mint condition.
How is this possible? Well, it's thanks largely to a substance called polyotaxane, which reacts to superficial nicks and blemishes by filling them in and morphing paint finishes back to their new state.
Wishing to share this amazing technology with more than just Nissan drivers, the Japanese automaker has developed a Nissan Scratch Shield iPhone case. If beta testing goes according to plan, you could see it in stores later this year.
