Used Car Market Conditions Commentary

My name is Robert Miller,  I am the Used Car Buyer here at Freedom Nissan. I spend my time traveling the country, going to various car sales, auctions, and purchasing the select cars that comprise our Pre-Owned Inventory.

  By visiting these sales weekly, I am able to experience first-hand, on a wholesale level , what is happening with the used car market.  Just as the stock market fluctuates on a daily basis, so does the used car market...

As you may have seen from reading previous posts on the Freedom Nissan blog, Nissan's ardor is not limited to creating current cars infused with veracious integrity. The Japanese automaker is also devoted to giving. For example, if you look back to our February 17, 2011 post, you'll find that Nissan has given over $5-million in grants and in-kind donations to Habitat for Humanity to date - plus thousands of dollars in building materials.


Habitat for Humanity is an international non-profit organization dedicated to building homes for low income families. To help their cause, Nissan North America, Inc. (NAA) has just donated $35,000 worth of building materials to their satellite office in Greater Miami.

What is Nissan's "Carwings"? Is it a badge? A point system? Maybe a social networking system?

In part, it is all of three of these things. Ultimately Nissan's Carwings is a cutting-edge in-dash system that allows drivers to compare their driving habits to fellow Nissan LEAF drivers. At a high-level, the Carwings system connects every LEAF to a network, tracking valuable data such as: miles driven, charge remaining, and miles per charge.
